Atmosphere Heat Treating
-
Atmosphere heat treating is used to protect the surface of parts while being processed at high temperature. The special atmosphere generated in the furnace is created from methanol and medical grade liquid nitrogen. The furnace atmosphere displaces the oxygen from the furnace to protect the parts from oxidation and decarburization. Special process controls monitor and maintain the carbon levels in the furnace to meet customer requirements.
Maximum part size we can atmosphere heat treat is 36" wide x 48" long x 28" high. Our maximum weight is 2,500 pounds.
Some specific types of atmosphere heat treating we offer includes:
- Atmosphere normalizing
- Neutral hardening
- Carburizing
- Carbonitriding
- Annealing
